DRAS Cases was Proud to Team with "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"
When the announcement was made that the popular ABC-TV show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” would be coming to Freeborn County more than 300 volunteers signed up to help one local family. Dean Rasmusson, owner of DRAS Cases, was approached by Larson Contracting to take on the responsibility for all interior millwork. Dean was more than willing to participate in this great opportunity to help out members of the community. Many DRAS employees volunteered to install the cabinetry and complete the finish carpentry including hanging doors, trimming windows, applying baseboard and manufacturing and installing the closet systems.
When the house was complete it had taken under 100 hours to build- a little less than 4 1/2, 24 hr days of nonstop construction by hundreds of skilled volunteers.
Upon arriving home the family was greeted by numerous community members and volunteers; The University of Minnesota marching band, Minnesota Vikings Players and Cheerleaders, the Minnesota Gophers baseball team and ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition host Ty Pennington and designers.
It was an honor to have been called by Larson Contracting to participate in the show which aired December 7th on ABC.
